Amusing AI discussionI’ve posted here many times about my AI concerns and have suggested guardrails.I was in Carmel, CA, last week and got into a pleasant discussion with a Silicon Valley tech HR individual and we got onto the AI topic.I said I’m skeptical of AI, productivity gains, and the potential loss of human derived creativity and intuition.He showed me an example of a presentation diagram that he said would have taken 20 minutes to create by Powerpoint that an AI engine did in a few minutes.So I responded that you spent time entering the criteria then ran the AI query maybe a couple of times. Then spent several minutes verifying that the AI output was correct.So, the time spent was roughly the same and not your creation.His AI concerns and mine are similar it turned out.The difference is that he’s optimistic on AI and I’m concerned about the consequences of AI.So here we are.#AI #technology #business #AI_slop #SiliconValley #productivity #Skepticism
