Signal now makes it possible to link additional smartphones and tablets to a single account. Users can connect another Android phone, Android tablet, or iPhone, allowing the same account to work across multiple phones, tablets, laptops, and desktop computers. The feature is rolling out with Android update 8.20 and iOS update 8.22. Android users can link another phone or tablet, while iPhone support joins the existing iPad integration. When linking a new Android phone or tablet, users can optionally transfer their full message history and up to 45 days of saved media through an end-to-end encrypted process based on Signal’s link and sync system. Signal has also updated its Android interface for tablets, foldables, and larger screens. Some features are still being developed, including parts of Settings, the in-app camera, and full keyboard shortcut support.
