YouTube introduces custom thumbnails for Shorts and Ask Studio AI thumbnail generation

YouTube is launching several updates to simplify the thumbnail creation process. Partner Program creators can now upload custom thumbnails for Shorts, addressing a highly requested feature. This update gives creators greater control over the appearance of their Shorts and is expected to roll out to more users in the future. Alongside this, YouTube enables creators to select from three suggested thumbnail frames for Shorts when working on desktop, a workflow already available for long-form videos. If using the YouTube app on mobile, creators can continue choosing any frame from their video for a thumbnail. For long-form videos, YouTube has integrated thumbnail generation within Ask Studio.
