Just read the ACM paper "Why AI slop matters", which argues that AI slop has cultural value even if its denigrated the way Kitsch was in the 1930s by the proponents of the avant garde. They don't argue that it is good, rather that the consumers want it. Which may be true for videos of family members, but not for OSS projects getting AI slop CVE reports or pull requests.
