WhatsApp is introducing Incognito Chat with Meta AI, a new mode for private and temporary conversations with Meta’s AI. The feature is designed for more sensitive interactions, including financial, health, work or any other personal related questions. When users start an Incognito Chat, the conversation is visible only to them and messages disappear by default. The feature uses WhatsApp’s Private Processing technology to handle AI requests in an isolated environment. Meta says it cannot access these interactions and that Incognito Chat conversations are not saved. The company presents it as a more private alternative to other incognito style AI modes, saying that no one, including Meta, can read the messages. WhatsApp also plans to launch Side Chat with Meta AI in the coming months, allowing users to request private AI assistance within the context of an ongoing chat without interrupting the main conversation.
