Mozilla developer Peter Wilson has introduced cq, an open knowledge base designed specifically for AI coding agents. Unlike static documentation or manual developer notes, cq operates as a shared repository where agents query real-time solutions discovered by other agents and contribute their own findings back to the commons. Knowledge accumulates and matures through usage rather than top-down authority. The project tackles a persistent problem: AI agents frequently rediscover solutions that have already been found by other agents running in different environments, wasting compute and time. Wilson frames it as a way to move beyond the current workaround of feeding agents individual .md files with hard-won instructions. https://arstechnica.com/ai/2026/03/mozilla-dev-introduces-cq-a-stack-overflow-for-agents/ #AIagent #AI #GenAI #AIInfrastructure #Mozilla
