Data Never Dies | Esther Hovers ✨ We are excited to introduce Esther Hovers, one of the participating artists in our upcoming exhibition, Data Never Dies. ✨ Esther Hovers is a visual artist that investigates how power, politics and control are exercised through urban planning and the use of public space. She was trained as a photographer but creates installations in which photographs, drawings, screen printing and film play an equal part. In an age obsessed with speed and technological efficiency, she looks for tranquillity, craftsmanship, and the art of handwork. For Data Never Dies, Hovers presents The Right to be Forgotten (2021). Hover is reproducing a Google-found portrait of the first man to successfully claim his ‘Right to be Forgotten’ in the European Court of Justice. His successful lawsuit made his quest to be forgotten very memorable. I look for reproduction techniques that simultaneously show and alter his portrait.
