The arbitrary quality of computer programming has surely encouraged the widespread abuse of words in the tech sector. "Hallucination", for example, has been wrenched from its proper psychological context (and just think of how many #tech geeks imagine that they've mastered the mysteries of the human brain merely because they morbidly read about mental illnesses and "forensic psychology") in order to describe a phenomenon in "generative #AI" that is not anything like real hallucination.Instead LLMs confabulate, like Donald Trump giving a meandering speech full of weird digressions and lapses into fantasy. Trump's senile brain no longer can tell the difference between truth and fiction, and the #LLM BY DESIGN never had any idea that there was a difference between truth and fiction.(cont'd)
