#unpopularopinion I think the use of LLMs for coding is not a bad thing as long as a developer uses it as a means of assistance, still with manual review of any artificially generated code.In the past few months, I saw that there are criticisms of open-source projects partially being worked on with a #LLM, for example ProcessOne's #XMPP client Fluux or the STUN/TURN software Coturn. It just doesn't get to me how that is problematic when their developers have a long history of professional work behind them, meaning that there are people actually knowing what they do in the background.Apart from the plausible aspects regarding ecological damages that major #AI companies cause (which can be reduced on the AI user's side by using a smaller model locally), what else speaks against it?
