Plex’s new Lifetime Plex Pass price has been in effect since July 1, raising the cost for new customers from $249.99 to $749.99 (three times the original). The increase was first announced in May, giving users until the deadline to buy the lifetime license at the old price. Existing Lifetime Plex Pass holders are not affected and will keep all current benefits and perks. Plex has also introduced a new five-year Plex Pass plan priced at $249.99, the same cost as the previous Lifetime Pass. The new tier sits between the annual plan, which remains at $69.99, and the new much more expensive Lifetime Pass. Monthly and annual Plex Pass subscriptions, as well as the Remote Watch Pass, remain unchanged. Plex says the new pricing better reflects the ongoing value of the software and supports long-term development.
