An #LLM is equally and no more impressive to me than any other reasonably complex use case of a GPU.They are the same order of magnitude of technology.The kind of processing and massive parallel computation required to display a realistic 3D game on a monitor at high resolution at high frame rate is exactly as amazing to me as an LLM processing tokenized language and correlating it with training data from a massive set of language forming a coherent correlated model enabling such processing; these are not different levels of impressiveness.Both are very impressive, but to say that an LLM—that just correlates a massive amount of tokens in its model and outputs the most likely tokens to follow input—is more special or significant than a 3D game, to me is proving that you’ve been incredibly deceived by the bias of language output and your own apophenia.LLMs are language calculators, not intelligence. Fascinating, powerful; but not true #AI.
